I'm Janice Mom to Rose & Macey our T1D diagnosed 2003 at 13 months old, since the day she was diagnosed, we knew we had to work towards a cure and helping other Type 1 families. At the time Macey was diagnosed she was one of the youngest in our area and there were not many Type 1 families. There was very little support on the Treasure Coast, I was part of the JDRF Mentor program and as families were diagnosed, helped to provide support and answer questions they may have. So our Macey's Believers walk team grew into much more than a diabetes fundraising team, it has become a T1D supportive community through Community events, and Social media. We were proud when we became a 501 C 3 to give us the opportunity to help even more Type 1 families.
Along with Macey's Believers, Inc., I work with Pediatric Dentistry of the Treasure Coast and Orthodontics as their Public Relations Coordinator & Dental Health Educator, and for our family owned Construction co.- Gaskins Construction, Inc.
